After a difficult loss to a very good team, Mike Sullivan spoke with the media and shared his thoughts on the team's performance.

On Saturday night, the Penguins squared off against one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars.

Although the Penguins didn't play terrible, they had difficulty generating sustainable offence and left Tristan Jarry out to dry for most of the game.

Nonetheless, Jarry was eventually pulled from the game early in the third period and the Penguins would go on to lose 4-2. Immediately following the game, Mike Sullivan shared his thoughts with the Penguins media.

It seems like we've heard this spiel before but, here are Sully's thoughts from last night.

"I liked the way the team started. I thought we came out with good energy. Obviously, got the first goal. I thought there were instances where we had to defend harder at our net-front and I thought we had opportunities on the other end of the rink offensively, where we simply have to execute and finish..."

"When we got the second goal in the 3rd period, you saw a boost from the group. There was an instant energy on the bench. We had opportunities prior to that ... that we didn't execute, that potentially could have given us an opportunity to feed off of it."

Coach Sully also shared his thoughts on Defenseman Jack St.Ivany in his NHL Debut.

More to come.
