In the off-season it is obvious that options via Free Agency or via trade, however, Kyle Dubas has options to fix his bottom six within the organization.




An opportunity has been presented for Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas in hopes of improving the lack of depth of their bottom six.

Players who are under the radar for a potential roster spot next season

Examples such as Drew O'Connor, who earned himself a two year extension with the Penguins organization after his improvement on the ice.

Another player who practically earned a spot next year is Valtteri Puustinen, who has 16 points in 38 games this season. Not so bad for a first year in the NHL!

Let's turn around and take a look at the main piece of the Jake Guentzel trade, Vasily Ponomarev, who will most definitely be in contention for a spot in the Penguins bottom six, who is showing great potential and seems ready to be a full timer in the NHL. In a year full of disappointment, it is nice to see that there are players who want to play in Pittsburgh, and show great potential.
