Alex Nedeljkovic had a great second half of the season which help propel him to a spot on Team USA's world championship roster.

The Penguins soon to be free agent goaltender was hoping for the chance to carry that play into the IIHF World Championships. When starting goaltender Alex Lyons suffered an injury, Ned got his chance to show what he can do.

Team USA was 1-1 going into their third tournament game when Lyons was hurt. But before the end of the second period, Nedeljkovic gave up four goals on sixteen shots, and the team decided to pull him for Trey Augustine.

Nedeljkovic only made it 39 minutes in goal. When Augustine came in to replace Ned, he stopped every regulation shot he faced, allowing for Team USA to storm back with three goals in the third to tie the game. In OT however, Milos Kelemen of Slovokia scored a deflection from a shot passed Augustine to win the game.
