The Pittsburgh Penguins and Alex Nedeljkovic overwhelm the Capitals in DC yesterday with an impressive 4-1 victory as Ned solidifies his role as the number one guy

In Thursday night's 4-1 dominating victory over the Washington Capitals, Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 30 of 31 shots to help the Penguins win big over their division rival.

In fact, Nedeljkovic has been nearly unstoppable over the last 7 games. Taking the role as the starting goaltender he is 5-0-2.

The win moved the Penguins to within two points of the final wild card spot, a place that was long thought to be down with this year. Over his last 6 games Ned has a .934 save percentage and a 1.97 GAA.

Pens Inside Scoop reporter Michelle Crechiolo asked Nedeljkovic about his confidence levels and the success he has been having. He quickly gives credit to the rest of the team.

"The guys in front of me. The guys in front of me - this whole trip - have been incredible."

Read on below for the full response to this question.

Nedeljkovic held the Caps to a lone goal, scored by Alex Ovechkin in the third, after the Penguins had a 3-0 lead and a dominating second period of play. Another stand out player was Michael Bunting who worked hard in the corners for pucks, did miss a breakaway goal opportunity, but then contributed with a goal in the second to give the Penguins that 3-0 lead.

The Penguins will be tested again as the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Penguins on Saturday at 1pm EST.
