Mike Sullivan and the Pittsburgh Penguins are on the verge of an improbable playoff push, and now he's addressed the media ahead of a huge game.

With just three points dividing themselves and the Washington Capitals for the final spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs the Penguins will meet their long-time rival, with two points potentially meaning the difference in the playoff race in the East this season.

With the game meaning so much, the last thing that any Penguins fan wants to see is players missing time, and with Kris Letang absent from morning skate, Head Coach Mike Sullivan addressed the absence.

Kris Letang wasn't on the ice, with Mike Sullivan calling it "more of a maintenance morning" for the veteran defenseman. "He's played a lot of minutes for us. We're trying to give him the rest he needs."

That's a hugely positive update on a veteran that means so much to this team, but in their recent hot stretch, it's the goaltending that has meant the most, with the duo of Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic starring for the Penguins hot-streak. Sullivan addressed that as well, revealing the tight bond the two have formed this season, and the potential role that has played in this run.

Sullivan, on Nedeljkovic and Jarry: "I believe those guys have a real authentic relationship. It's really cool to see. They root for one another, they're supportive of one another, but yet there's a healthy competition between the two. I think they make each other better."

Ultimately, their next game could be one that defines their season, and with the goaltending rolling and the team getting what they need from this veteran group, there's plenty of optimism in Pittsburgh that this team can make a genuine push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
