During Saturday's loss to Columbus, Michael Bunting left the game early and we now know why.

Michael Bunting Leaves Game Early against Columbus

Although he made the start, the Penguins would be without Michael Bunting by the end of the game. As he left the game early in the third period.

The Penguins have been playing without Michael Bunting in this third period, as he headed down the runway after one shift.

After the game, the team announced that the winger was dealing with some sort of illness.

I hope that he gets better quickly as he has been an impactful player for the Penguins since he was acquired as part of the Jake Guentzel trade.

He has been helping out offensively as well as bringing a certain energy and grit that the Penguins had certainly been lacking.

With 7 points in 12 games, Bunting has looked sharp as a member of the Penguins top-6.

As of right now, there has been no update on how this effects Buntings availability moving forward, however Emil Benstrom will likely slot in the lineup if Bunting were to miss time.
