After yet another difficult loss, Mike Sullivan shared some criticism for the referees regarding a specific call.

Mike Sullivan Shares Frustration with Goalie Interference Calls

After Mathieu Olivier scored a short-handed goal last night, it appeared that Cole Sillinger may have interfered with Ned. Therefore, Mike Sullivan and the Penguins coaching staff challenged the play arguing that Sillinger prevented Ned from getting back across the net.

You can see the video below:

When asked about the call in the post game media scrum, Head Coach Mike Sullivan had this to say:

«The blue paint is the goalie's domain,» Sullivan said. «We felt like when a player goes into the blue paint on his own volition without getting pushed there, then there's a possible goalie interference.»

The challenge didn't work and the goal remained, the Penguins were also assessed a bench minor for the unsuccessful challenge.

«But your guess is as good as mine,» Sullivan said. «If anybody can figure out goalie interference, we're all ears."

This isn't the first time we've seen confusing goalie interference calls this season.

So, what did you think? Good goal?
