The Pittsburgh Penguins played their last regular season game against the NY Islanders last night and it also turned out to be Jeff Carter's last NHL game

It was originally reported by the Penguins that Jeff Carter will be retiring after this season. After the game it was an emotional moment for Carter and the Penguins. Much respect to the Islanders and their fans for saluting Carter on his long NHL career.

After the game, one of the players who was asked about Carter was a long time rival and teammate Sidney Crosby.

He got choked up a bit when reminiscing about Carter and playing with him on Team Canada as well as against him in the NHL.

"A lot. We played together at World Juniors, and kind of grew up playing with Team Canada together, and then played against him when he was just Philadelphia [grins], so a bit of a rivalry there. Things change."
