After playing for the past few seasons with the Penguins, Jeff Carter has officially announced his retirement.

In a career that has spanned over 1300 plus games, Carter has suited up for 4 different NHL teams. He also is a two-time Stanley Cup champion.

Although he received a lot of criticism in Pittsburgh, he was remarkably well liked within the organization and respected league-wide. Also for those who remember him in his prime - he was a beast in his day.

The Canadian forward amassed 851 points over his time with the Flyers, Kings, Blue Jackets and Penguins.

After game #82 against the Islanders, the Penguins stayed out on the ice and he was named the games first star. It was a touching moment shared with Carter's teammates and family.
