The Pittsburgh Penguins will be a team to watch ahead of the trade deadline as they happen to fall out of reach from the playoffs by the day. Kyle Dubas has reportedly been receiving inquires regarding their goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic.

Jarry, has four years left on his current contract , and Nedjelkovic is on his final year of his deal as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent. Both goalies have exceeded expectations this season, and hold huge trade value.

Insider Dave Pagnotta provides an update.

Insider thinks Pens may trade a goalie

With the numerous teams calling about their goaltenders, Friedman and Pagnotta wonder if they trade one, with the emergence of Joel Blomqvist in the AHL.

«One position I do think that people have started to ask about and the Penguins will consider is goal,» Friedman said. «They've got Jarry and Nedeljkovic at the NHL level, they've got a really good prospect in Joel Blomqvist, who's having a good year in the American Hockey League, and a couple of teams have suggested to me that you might want to add to the list of goalies who could be moved someone in Pittsburgh.»

It makes sense as Nedeljkovic may seek a pay raise in July, something the Penguins don't need to budge on with Blomqvist appearing ready to serve as an NHL backup.

Interesting times in Pittsburgh.
