When it's all said and done, Sidney Crosby will go down as one of the greatest players in NHL history, and his latest award is a testament to that.

Despite a slow start to the season, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins have been flying as of late, and in doing so, they've watched Crosby put on another incredible campaign. At age-36, Crosby has tallied 40 goals for the third time in his career, adding 86 points in 78 games played, and now he's been given a prestigious award.

As reported by the Penguins, their fearless leader and captain has been awarded Penguins Team MVP for the 12th time in his illustrious career, putting him up there with not only the all-time Penguins greats, but the NHL greats as well.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been selected by his teammates as the recipient of the team's Most Valuable Player Award presented by PPG for the fourth-consecutive season in 2023-24. This is Crosby's 12th Team MVP recognition, tying Mario Lemieux (12) for the most in team history.

The huge honour ties him with Mario Lemieux for most in team history, and with plenty more gas left in the tank, no one would be shocked if he went on to win it at least one more time. Now however, the focus shifts to their impending playoff race, and while they've got to be perfect over their next stretch to find their way into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, this is a team that's been red-hot as of late, and with Crosby leading the way, few should doubt them.
