Positive Update for Injured Penguins Star Emerges

The Pittsburgh Penguins have received an amazing injury update regarding one of their star players and potential trade piece at their morning skate ahead of their game versus the Calgary Flames tonight in a crucial matchup.

Guentzel resumed skating with the team



Jake Guentzel is in for a very stressful week after his name has appeared numerous times in trade rumours as the Penguins try to shop him around before the March 8th NHL trade deadline. Today, good news was out for both the Penguins and buying teams as Jake Guentzel was seen on the ice in a no contact jersey as per Penguins reporter.

Jake Guentzel is taking part in the Penguins optional morning skate wearing a white no-contact jersey. It's the first time he's participated in the official portion of a practice - until this point of the trip, he'd been coming on late.





Important to note that the star forward cannot return to action before March 10th as per the LTIR rules, and it's also ironically two days after the trade deadline. The question remains, has Guentzel played his final game as a Penguin?
