Evgeni Malkin is not quite the player he once was. At 37, we can see him slowly down.

Malkin has been paired with multiple wingers this season without much solid success. But it looks like his current pair of forwards seem to be sparking something in the future hall of famer.

Malkin's Pairing with Two Youthful Forwards Have Proven Effective Over the Last Three Games

Although it has only been a short time for the three together, the addition of Valtteri Puustinen and Drew O'Connor with Malkin have shown a lot of potential. They have dominated opponents in 5 on 5 situations, outchancing the opposition 22-8 in just over 33 minutes.

As Dubas Looks to Get Younger, Puustinen and O'Connor Can Fill That Need

O'Connor and Puustinen may not be the permanent solution to the second line, but they have shown to be NHL worthy forwards.
