The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled Sam Poulin to the team before the game against the Washington Capitals Thursday night

With the playoffs possibly on the line, the Penguins have made a move that could reflect in their starting lineup for tonights game.

With Poulin getting recalled from the AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Penguins may look to use the forward tonight in a must win game. Poulin has had success this year in playing for the WBS Penguins and was called up for 3 games recently. During that time he did not score any points and had an average ice time of 7:47 minutes.

The Penguins were recently dealing with illnesses the last handful of games, with Jarry and Ludvig missing the game against the Rangers and Bunting leaving the Columbus game early.

With that said, it is possible Poulin was called up as a precaution as the Penguins could still be dealing with the illness. Regardless, this is a chance for Poulin to maybe get further game play.

The Penguins faceoff against the Capitals tonight at 7pm.
