Today, we have just witnessed a historical moment in the hockey world, where Russian goaltender Artemi Pleshkov got the world record for an interesting stat.

The russian goalie was in the mist of a intense 4OT game in the VHL playoffs with his team SKA Neva where the goaltender broke the world record for the most saves in a hockey game. The goaltender made 125 saves out of 126 shots where they would eventually lose in overtime.

The Russian goalie broke the record which was held by Belarus goaltender Alexander Borodulya where he made 104 saves. Next up on the list was Joonas Korpisalo of the Columbus Blue Jackets who made a total of 85 saves in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs versus the Tampa Bay Lightning where the match went to five overtimes.

Truly a remarkable performance that will staple himself in the history books!
