Things got heated at the end of the devastating loss for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the feisty Boston Bruins where no other than Michael Bunting was involved in the late game scrum. Bruins defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk resulted in a fine for unsportsmanlike conduct on the Penguins forward.

In the end of the game, Kevin Shattenkirk was seen giving it to Michael Bunting, while no penalty was called on the play, the league stepped up and handed out a fine in the aftermath of the game.

Boston's Kevin Shattenkirk has been fined $2,734.38, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct during last night's game against Pittsburgh.

According to the NHL's release, the incident occurred at the 19:37 mark of the opening period. The league did not release a video of the incident or give further details on what exactly happened, but Bunting was the focus of a lot of heat from the Bruins.

The frustration is normal as the Pittsburgh Penguins lost a crucial game, therefore Michael Bunting's actions were clearly justifiable, and hopefully he can bring that feisty energy into his play for their must win game versus the Nashville Predators on Monday.
