After being brought up on April 11th, prior to the Penguins game on Saturday night the team sent Vinnie Hinostroza back down to the minors.

Prior to the Penguins game against the Red Wings on April 11th, the Penguins recalled forward Vinnie Hinostroza from Wilkes Barre-Scranton. This was reportedly because Lars Eller was feeling under the weather and was a gametime decision. However Eller did end up playing that game and Hinostroza didn't see any action.

Tonight, shortly after puck drop, the Penguins announced the Hinostroza would be sent back down to the AHL after seeing no action in this NHL stint. This would also be the 8th time that Hinostroza has been added to the Penguins roster.

Through 14 games with the Penguins this season, he has a goal and two assists. His last NHL appearance was in late December.

It's also very important to note that Hinostroza is a much more effective player at the AHL level and will likely make an impact during the baby Penguins playoff push.
