The Pittsburgh Penguins' prospect Brayden Yager became a playoff hero last night, by scoring an overtime goal to give his team the lead in the WHL semi finals.

Yager, drafted 13th overall by the Pens in 2023, is currently playing in the WHL's semi-finals with his team, the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Last night, in the first game of the round, he scored the game-winning goal in overtime with a powerful shot that beat the goaltender.

Here's a video of Yager's goal:

This season, he's been playing a crucial role with his team. In 57 games, he tallied an impressive total of 95 points, including 35 goals. Since the playoffs started, he skated in 10 games and scored 15 points (eight goals, seven assists).

Yager is on his way of becoming a great player and if he continues on that path, he could play for the Penguins in a near future.

In a recent interview, he commented on his growth, and how he was influenced by Sidney Crosby and KRis Letang when he took part in the Pens' training camp last fall.

"Being on the same team as Sid at camp was pretty cool. Just getting to follow him and Letang around, and seeing how they treat their bodies is pretty incredible."

"It's so much different when you are going into a corner with the puck and they're pretty much telling you what to do with it. So that kind of helps you make quicker decisions and it's something I tried to bring back to Moose Jaw."
