Penguins Provide Important Injury Update
The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting prepared to face the mighty Golden Knights tonight in Vegas. Ahead of that promising matchup, the Pens' organization released an important health update on several players.
Penguins Release Health Update on Karlsson
Yesterday, the team announced that their star defenseman Erik Karlsson skipped practice because the veteran was feeling under the weather.
Coach Sullivan on Karlsson's absence from practice: "He just wasn't feeling well. He was under the weather, so we kept him back at the hotel today."
His case is uncertain for tonight's game, meaning that we could see Ryan Shea back in the lineup.
Pittsburgh Shares Update on Two More Injuries
The Penguins also released updates for John Ludvig and Reilly Smith.
Ludvig skated after the team's official practice with a non-contact jersey. He was placed on LTIR at the beginning of the month and should return soon.
They also mentionned that Reilly Smith skated with a non-contact jersey too.
Smith was injured on January 11th and chances to see him back on the ice tonight to face his former team are slim.
"John Ludvig and Reilly Smith, both dressed in white no-contact jerseys, are taking the ice now that the official portion of Penguins practice has wrapped up and guys are just doing their own thing."
