Big news for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they gear up for a crucial showdown against the Nashville Predators in their regular season home finale at PPG Paints Arena on Monday. Between the pipes for the 12th straight night is goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic.

Now, this game is make-or-break for the Penguins. Failing to snag at least a point would effectively squash their hopes of making it to the postseason. They're a point back of the Washington Capitals with two games left.

But, Nedeljkovic seems to thrive under pressure. This will mark his 12th consecutive start, and the team has been rocking a solid 7-1-3 record since he took over as the unofficial starter back in March. Sure, he was pulled against the Boston Bruins in their 6-4 loss last Saturday, but Coach Mike Sullivan's still putting his faith in him for this crucial matchup and so is Captain Sidney Crosby.

Coach Sullivan, shed some light on the decision to stick with Nedeljkovic, emphasizing that both Nedeljkovic and Tristan Jarry have been stellar in goal this season.

Ultimately, it comes down to who gives the team the best shot at winning on any given night and they're rolling with the hot hand that has got them to this point.

As for Nedeljkovic's stats this season, they're pretty solid – a 17-6-7 record, with a 2.93 goals against average, and a .903 save percentage.

And let's not forget about Nedeljkovic's history against the Predators. In five games, he's posted a 2-3-0 record, with a 2.41 goals against average, and a .912 save percentage. Can he record a third win tonight against Jusse Saros, who's in net for Nashville? Only time will tell.
