The Pittsburgh Penguins suffered a deflating blow against the Boston Bruins and now must win against the Nashville Predators to still have a chance at the playoffs.

The Penguins sit one point out of the final wildcard spot still but with just two games left they are all must win games.

According to Moneypuck.com if the Penguins do not win this game, and either the Capitals or Red Wings win, the Penguins will be officially out.

A win gives the Penguins a 41.7% chance of making the playoffs, still needing help from other teams. They are currently sitting at a 23.7% chance, in the race for that final spot. The Philadelphia Flyers (18%), Washington Capitals (29.4%), and the Detroit Red Wings (33.8%) are all still within range.

The Islanders are almost a guarantee, with a 95.1% chance to make the playoffs. A win in their next game gets them in.

This feels like a reminder of last season, where the Penguins controlled their own destiny with a win and in scenario and were unable to close the deal. They are once again down to the wire, and a situation where they must win to still have the chance to be in.

The Penguins and Predators will faceoff at PPG Paints Arena tonight at 7pm.
