The Adirondack Thunder played the Maine Mariners on Dec 17. Losing by two goals at the end of the third, the Thunder had no choice but to pull their goalie for a sixth skater. The Mariners' goaltender François Brassard grabbed the opportunity by sniping the puck across the whole ice all the way into the net:
