Penguins player of the month revealed, discussable pick makes fans react

Overall, the Pens have been pretty good during the month of December, getting an 8-3-2 record. Things kind of went sideways around the end of the month and the bad streak is continuing, as of early January.

Pittsburgh news site "Pensburgh" has revealed who the player of the month of December is, and not everyone agrees with their choice. They selected Evgeni Malkin as the star player of the month for the Pens. Stats-wise, Geno has had a lot of success throughout the month : he recorded 10 assists and 14 points in total, which is very good.

But, where some people are disagreeing is not necessarily concerning the stats. Geno got some good highs, but some pretty bad lows. He made some mistakes that costed the Pens games, such as the OT chase behind the net against the Carolina Hurricanes. Nonetheless, it is true that most of the time he has been impactful.

He even had a scary moment when he scored that injury goal, leading him to the locker room.
