Two Penguins forwards selected to Team Finland for World Championships

This afternoon Pittsburgh Penguins fans got some exciting news regarding the future of two of their younger forwards. Both Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi have been selected to represent Finland at the World Championship tournament coming up.

A new announcement on X from Team Finland heading into the World Championships has confirmed their roster. Team Finland will be especially intriguing to Pittsburgh Penguins fans as the team will feature Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi.





The duo had been playing with Finland in recent weeks as a tryout and warmup period for the World Championship. Jesse Puljujarvi even put home a game-winning goal in a shootout for his country against Sweden.




The team will also feature former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maata on the back end for Finland.



Both Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi are looking to find their way and work up the Pittsburgh Penguins roster as they reload and look to get back in the playoffs. A good tournament for either or both of them could jump-start their progress much like it did for Drew O'Connor during last season's World Championships.
