Penguins forward Jeff Carter has been out of action for the last week now, but according to sources, we finally have an injury update regarding the veteran forward.




On Tuesday, The Pittsburgh Penguins were against division rivals the New Jersey Devils in a must win game as they were without forward Jeff Carter due to an undisclosed upper body injury. Jeff Carter makes trip to Dallas



With two in the next four days, Jeff Carter wasn't brought on this trip to not play, as the team won't be practicing other than a potential optional practice. Therefore, Carter is practically guaranteed to slate back into the lineup potentially as of Friday as the Pittsburgh Penguins face off versus the Dallas Stars, or at the very worst case, against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver on Sunday.

Carter, 39, who is in the final year of his contract, has nine goals, 12 points in 61 games playing primarily on the fourth line and second power-play unit. He has one goal and one assist in his past five games and is starting to show more consistency in his play, showing much improvement compared to early on in the season.
