The Penguins came out strong against the Columbus Blue Jackets last night at PPG Paints Arena. They skated away with a 5-3 victory with the help of Reilly Smith.

During the game Reilly Smith assisted on Evgeni Malkin's goal to give Smith 500 points in his career.

Reilly Smith Has a Three Point Night Against Columbus to Help Secure the Win

The milestone did not stop Smith as he went on to help the Penguins beat the Blue Jackets 5-3 at home last night. After the Penguins were up 2-0 they lost the lead twice as the game started to go back and forth.

Carter was able to get the Penguins the lead back with an assist by Smith. That is when Smith also scored a goal for his third point and to finish off the Blue Jackets.

Reilly Smith was named the first star of the game, and in a post game interview referenced the win for the team as well as areas of opportunity.

The Penguins look forward now to play against the rival Washington Capitals Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena.
