Mike Sullivan's future in Pittsburgh is officially confirmed

It's official, Mike Sullivan's future with the Pittsburgh Penguins as head coach will remain intact. He will stay with the team this off-season as head coach. Both Sullivan and Kyle Dubas might not see eye to eye, but they have a mutual understanding of each other.

After Todd Rierden was fired in Pittsburgh, there was growing speculation that Mike Sullivan was frustrated with the firing regardless of how poor the Penguins' power play was.

Kyle Dubas, current president of hockey operations and general manager of the team received some backlash from players for his not-so-popular business operations, but that seems to wash away as they keep longtime head coach Sullivan.




Sidney Crosby, longtime captain and a big supporter of Sullivan, supported the idea of Sullivan remaining in Pittsburgh and it is to be believed that this was the reason that Sullivan will stay.

The Penguins won back-to-back Stanley Cups under Sullivan in 2016 and 2017 and have gone down the rebuild spiral, but things look promising for the future with prospects and a veteran squad.



This is huge news for the Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans as Mike Sullivan was very well-liked by the majority in this market. Letting Sullivan go would've been a catastrophic mistake that would've haunted them for years. Fortunately, Penguins fans won't have to fear that.
