NHL Analyst Brian Boyle shared a touching story about Sid and his wonderful character on TV recently.

Brian Boyle Talks About Sid's Fantastic Character on NHL Network Broadcast

Throughout his 19 years in the NHL, Sidney Crosby has been a fantastic role model for young players and fans alike. He's maintained a very private life outside of the spotlight of the rink, yet has always been known to go the extra mile with teammates, friends and fans.

There are countless stories out there that show just how great of a person Sidney Crosby is, and the latest iteration of this occurred the other night on the NHL Network broadcast with former teammate Brian Boyle.

When Brian Boyle was signed with the Penguins, he was rehabbing an injury and noted that the move was difficult on his family and especially his young son Declan. Boyle said that Sid went above and beyond to make him and his family feel welcome in the city as well as on the team.

"He was injured to start the year and my family had come to one of the opening games, could of been the opening night at home," began Boyle. "My son was six at the time and I got a call on my phone, I check my phone after the game, my wife is texting and calling saying 'You have to get out here because Declan won't let Sid leave.'"

"They were playing bubble hockey," revealed Boyle. "Sid's backing me off 'The game's not over yet bud.'"

Boyle also said that this wasn't a one-time occurrence, Sid routinely went out of his way to spend time with Declan.

"Every time he heard my son's voice on the phone, cause he knew it was hard for my son too, he would grab the facetime and he would chat with him.»

When asked finally what it was like to be a teammate of Sid's, Brian Boyle was able to sum it up very easily, by saying:

"The best, He's one of the best teammates and best people ever."

We think Sid is the best too, what an absolute treat it has been to watch him play in Pittsburgh all these years.
