The Minnesota Wild are having a rather below average season compared to their standards. They are currently 3 points off a wild card spot and are 21st in the NHL overall standings. They also have a veteran goaltender and pending UFA Marc-Andre Fleury on the trade market shall they be a seller in the upcoming trade deadline.

Fleury reveals potential trade suitor

Marc Andre Fleury was asked about his status leading to the deadline as a member of the Minnesota Wild. He answered;

"Every year, when players' contracts come to an end, names of pending free agents always come up in the rumors to be on the move. For me, my team is Minnesota. We have such a good group of guys and great chemistry. I've been here for over two seasons. I'm not thinking about leaving or going somewhere else. I want to continue to fight with my team to try to make the postseason."

It is clear that if the former Penguins goaltender seeks a trade out of the state of hockey, it would be to a playoff contender such as the Hurricanes, Avalanche, Knights who are all keen on adding someone between the pipes.
