This afternoon several NHL sources are confirming that the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed a forward on waivers.

Today Elliotte Friedman announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Jonathan Gruden on waivers.

Gruden who had been waiver exempt earlier in the season crossed the games played threshold. He will now need to clear waivers to be assigned back to the AHL. All 31 other teams will have an opportunity to claim him over the next 24 hours.
