You've heard of sweepstakes for NHL free agents, but not very common you see numerous teams try and sign a player who never played in the NHL. Maxim Tsyplakov is killing it in the KHL this season with 32 points in 48 games played, 22 of them are goals.

Who's interested in the Russian Phenom?

Only half way into his season, Maxim already has teams showing interest in him, hoping he makes the jump to the NHL. The Coyotes, Bruins, Leafs are some of the teams showing interest in adding the forward for next season, his agent tells the media.

Kyle Dubas should be all over this

The Penguins GM should be all over this player going into next season to strengthen their offensive core. Usually, we see success in bringing over players from Europe after amazing seasons. Alex Radulov, came over from Russia to sign with the Montreal Canadiens and put up 53 points in his first season.

Similar to Alex Radulov, Andrei Kuzmenko signed with the Canucks after a great KHL year and put up 74 points in his first NHL season! The KHL is widely known as the second best professional league in hockey as they have many former NHL players, prospects and stars who have no interest in playing in the NHL. It is immensly competitive so seeing amazing performances like Maxim Tsyplakov translates usually very well at the NHL Level.

More details to follow.
