He satisifys the eye test and the analytical test, many scouts love him.

The value is there for Pettersson

We can only imagine what Dubas can get his hands on shall he trade the swedish d man. On retained salary, his cap hit would be at 2M AAV and will be a hot commodity. In 2022, Ben Chiarot who was making 500k less then the Penguins d man managed to get the habs a 1st round pick, 4th round pick and a C prospect from the Florida Panthers. In 2021, The Blue Jackets managed to get a first round pick and a 3rd round pick for David Savard. The market is quite evidently there for defensive dmen, especially guys with the track record of Marcus Pettersson.
