Reporter Reveals The Concerning Reason Why Milan Lucic Still Has An NHL Contract

Milan Lucic appeared in court a few weeks ago following massive accusations of assault and battery on a family member.

His NHL career is likely over, but he still has a contract in the League, at many fans' surprise.

A reporter revealed why his contract hasn't been terminated yet.

Sara Civian shared on X that Lucic is still in the NHL because the League has no domestic violence policy.

Here's what she wrote after someone highlighted Lucic's situation and compared it to Corey Perry's, who was terminated by his team after getting drunk at a team event:

"milan lucic got into a domestic altercation with his wife and still didn't have his contract terminated.

wtf did perry DO???"

"Unfortunately the NHL is the only major league with no domestic violence policy. This is why Lucic's contract wasn't immediately terminated. It doesn't mean Perry did something "worse," and it's dangerous to assume that. I'm also concerned with people seeing things on a scale"


The fact that the NHL is the only big sports league without a policy against domestic violence is nothing short of embarassing.

Gary Bettman, please, we're not in the 70's anymore... Do something.
