Recent Injury to Noel Acciari Creates an Opportunity to Promote Poulin

After Noel Acciari suffered a concussion from a hit during a recent game against the Winnipeg Jets, an opportunity has arisen for Sam Poulin to slot into the Penguins bottom 6. Poulin is a former first round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry draft and has played excellent in Wilkes-Barre as of late.

Sam Poulin's Recent Performance in the AHL

So far this season, Sam Poulin has looked stellar for the baby Pens posting 18 points in 26 games. You wonder why he hasn't been recalled yet to help with secondary scoring for the Penguins especially with Acciari going down for at least a couple games. I think that a young talent like Poulin could help jumpstart the Pens bottom six and would be a welcome addition.

In a recent media appearance Kyle Dubas had some kind words for the young forward.

"He's really started to assert himself at that level this year."

He's earned it, call him up Dubas!

More to come.
