Reilly Smith missing morning skate for personal reasons

The Penguins held their morning skate today and absent from the ice with forward Reilly Smith missing the skate for personal reasons

The Penguins hit the ice this morning at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex for their morning skate. One player was expected to miss practice. Reilly Smith was absent today per Mike Sullivan for personal reasons.

Reilly Smith and his wife Melissa are expecting their second child any time now.




During this month prior to the trade deadline, Smith was a player who's name came up often for trade rumors

Since then Smith has show some signs of life, and although on paper during the last 5 games he has only produced one goal and two assists, his gameplay has improved.

Jeff Carter who has missed four games with undisclosed injury skates

With Smith out, the Penguins lineup looks to be the same with one possible addition. Jeff Carter who was out with an undisclosed injury for four games skated this morning.





With the way the Penguins younger players added some speed into the game, I would prefer to keep them playing then add carter into the mix.
