Positive Injury Update for Penguins Forward

The Pittsburgh Penguins have received an injury update regarding their star forward according to head coach Mike Sullivan.

Positive update regarding Jake Guentzel

Jake Guentzel started skating again for the first time since his injury, he obviously can't be activated off of LTIR until March 10th according to rules, that's if he is still a Penguin with the trade deadline coming on March 8th and the American forward being involved in many trade rumours.

Jake Guentzel (who can return from LTIR on March 10) went out on the ice for some individual work once the official practice wrapped up.

"It's a big step when they get on the ice. Just means they're that much closer, so it's great to see him out there," Mike Sullivan said.

Obviously it's good news for buying teams who may be looking to add the star forward, as there may have been injury concerns.

Teams expected to be interested in Jake are the Vancouver Canucks, Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers, among other contending teams who may be thrilled to hear news like this.

With the Penguins current status in the standings, it's the smartest thing to do to deal a pending UFA with such high value.

More details to come.
