The Pittsburgh Penguins receive brutal news to begin this long weekend as defenceman Ryan Graves is expected to miss some time with an apparent upper body injury.

Ryan Graves expected to miss some time

The believed injury that will keep the Penguins defenseman out for a while is a concussion.

Mike Sullivan said Ryan Graves has been diagnosed with a concussion.

It remains super important that players take the time needed to recover from injuries and not to rush back into the game as it can leave them with long term side effects, and may damage their career, such as rival Philadelphia Flyer Nolan Patrick. Nolan Patrick's injury defined career

In our opinion, Graves should be sidelined for the remainder of the season as there is nothing left at stake for the Penguins as they are deemed out of the playoffs. The focus should remain for recovery going into the off-season. An early off-season may benefit Graves, who has had a struggling first year with the Penguins since being signed via free agency last summer.
