Penguins Jake Guentzel Set to Take the Ice Tuesday for a Milestone Game

Published February 5, 2024 at 2:57 PM

Tuesday Night the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Winnepeg Jets at PPG Arena. It is the first game back after the bye week and the All-Star Break.

This game will have a special meaning to one of the Penguins top forwards, Jake Guentzel. He is set to play in his 500th NHL game.

When asked about it, Jake stated;
"I've been pretty fortunate to play a good amount of games so far. It's a special moment. It's pretty cool to play in this league, and I hope for many more to come."

Jake has developed into a top forward for the Penguins over the years. Getting to play on a top line and win the Stanley Cup is a dream for most NHLers and Guentzel is no exception.

"My goal was to play in the NHL, so each game you play you realize how lucky you are, and you never want to take it for granted."

Head Coach Mike Sullivan also commented on this milestone game for Guentzel when asked about it from reports.

Sully summed it up with saying,
«He's a Pittsburgh Penguin through and through.»

Guentzel's value to the team is apparent from Sullivan's comments. I am sure the Penguins hope that Guentzel will still be able to hit milestones as a Penguin for years to come.
