Kyle Dubas' Framework for a Massive Jake Guentzel Trade Has Been Revealed

Yesterday, the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames worked a blockbuster involving Elias Lindholm. The trade included Andrei Kuzmenko, a 2024 1st round pick, Hunter Bruschewicz, Toni Jurmo and conditional 3rd round pick. Lots of assets were given up for a player on an expiring deal with 32 points this season. Kyle Dubas now shifts his eyes towards Jake Guentzel, now understanding the value he brings to the table.

The price for Jake Guentzel has been set

In every mock trade we did, we believed the Penguins would ask for a 1st round pick, top 6 forward, A level prospect and another draft pick for the Penguins Left winger. Well, the Canucks gave that up for Elias Lindholm. Nothing against the Swedish centre, but Jake Guentzel brings far more value and is a more complete player and adds more offense to a contending team. The floor for Kyle Dubas to even consider a trade is now a 1st round pick, top 6 forward, A+ prospect and another draft pick. Just the floor, not the ceiling. The Penguins can potentially land two first round picks, a top level prospect, top 6 forward and another mid round draft pick for Guentzel, if they negotiate hard enough. If Dubas puts Guentzel's name out there, he will automatically be number one on trade boards, and will be a hot commodity before the deadline.
