Is it too Early to Judge Kyle Dubas?

We get it, fans are frustrated, the Penguins aren't in a playoff spot as of the month of February, inconsistency has been their biggest issue. Have fans been to hard on Kyle Dubas?

Losing hope in Dubas already?

In his first season as Penguins GM, Kyle Dubas needs to be given a break from the slack via media. He walked in as GM and boldly made a blockbuster acquiring the Norris trophy winner Erik Karlsson in a late August trade. He felt that since the previous management committed to their core when Malkin and Letang were pending UFA's that he should at least help them compete.

The Big guys are letting them down

Guys who pleaded to get resigned to continue the core and promised to keep consistent play, have been underwhelming. Players like Jeff Carter, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are among those who have underachieved the most. Malkin has not been pretty via the eye test or analytically. He's extremely lucky that players like Jake Guentzel and Sidney Crosby have stepped up to the plate for the Pens.

They have missed the playoffs for the first time since Crosby's rookie season last year, and don't plan on doing it again. But it may be inevitable if their play doesn't change.
